Hong Kong is a country you will never get tired of going back to. The country boasts many activities and places that can be enjoyed by anyone, especially families. Hong Kong has two famous theme parks, Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park which makes it a top choice when choosing a destination for a family vacation. If you’re staying in Hong Kong for a limited amount of time, it would be really hard to choose which ones to do first. So I listed my recommended top 10 iconic things to do for a memorable holiday in Hong Kong.

1. Enjoy the view from Victoria’s Peak
Ride the peak tram for a scenic experience when heading to Victoria’s peak.

2. High tea at Ritz Carlton
Wouldn’t it be nice to have an afternoon tea at 490 meters above sea level with some of Hong Kong’s best pastries? The macaroons that was included in our tea set came all the way from France but you won’t find it in the photo because I already ate it before even remembering to take a snap.

3. Ride the Star Ferry
This was a refreshing way to see an overview of Hong Kong. I enjoyed the cool breeze during the ride plus it only costs a few cents so why not try?

4. Food Trip
Get ready to gain calories when in Hong Kong. Don’t forget to try the famous egg waffle which you can find in street stalls, Godiva ice cream in malls, pork buns & dim sum, Mickey Mouse waffle from Disneyland, McDonald’s Hong Kong version and of course, street food!

5. Shop at Mongkok & Jordan
You can find different types of street markets when you get down from Mongkok or Jordan station. The famous ones are the shoe street, ladies market and temple night street. In shoe street, you can find retailers of shoe brands such as Nike, Adidas and New Balance with limited edition designs and for a cheaper than mall price. For shopping souvenirs, Temple Street Night Market is the place to be.

8. Time Square
The first thing that pops in my mind when I hear the word time square is people. This place is so busy with so many people crossing the street just like any other Time Square in the world. Which makes it great for people watching while eating egg waffle as well as for street photography.

9. Day Tour in Macau
We were lucky to be staying at a hotel that is directly connected to the ferry station going to Macau. We visited City of Dreams, Ruins of St. Paul’s, Senado Square and our last stop was The Venetian Macau before going back to Hong Kong. We were there on a weekend and the tourist attractions were overcrowded which gives Macau a lively and colourful impression!

10. Hong Kong Disneyland
A Hong Kong trip would not be complete without a tour at one of the country’s well known entertainment parks. At first, we were torn between Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park. We decided to go with the happiest place on earth, Hong Kong Disneyland, so that we could also witness the parade and amazing fireworks at night.
